Material Type

Giving new life to materials that have served their purpose. An object of regeneration where Japanese tradition and sustainability converge.

"RE:DARUMA - Mameshiba" is a sister product that inherits the philosophy of "RE:DARUMA," a popular series from "FOOD STONE" that transforms food waste into beautiful interior objects.

This is a minimalist art piece that takes the form of the "Daruma," a traditional Japanese lucky charm cherished since ancient times, and adds the essence of the "Mameshiba," a small Japanese dog breed beloved worldwide. Its perky, triangular ears and adorable yet somewhat proud expression exude a warm sense of healing and a distinct presence in any space, despite its palm-sized form.

We are committed not just to reducing waste, but to creating products that preserve the "memories embedded in materials." No artificial dyes are used for coloring the body; instead, the natural colors and textures of the upcycled food waste itself are utilized to meticulously finish each piece.

Four natural material variations

● Coffee grounds: A deep, calming dark brown with a modern feel
● Mikan peel: A warm, vibrant, and gentle yellow
● Perilla seed press cake: A natural green, beautifully showcasing the grain of the material
● Onion peel: A somewhat nostalgic, familiar terracotta orange

Materials that would have otherwise been discarded have been beautifully regenerated by the hands and skills of artisans, becoming "art that invites good fortune" and enriches people's lives.

【About FOOD STONE】

FOOD STONE is an upcycling brand that breathes new life into discarded food waste, transforming its appearance and "circulating" it.
By combining materials that would normally be thrown away, such as coffee grounds, fruit peels, and vegetable skins, with mineral components derived from seawater, we regenerate them into products with a stone-like texture and presence.
